We were happy to place Ritter in a great home with a willing and loving new owner.  Notice the safety belt around Ritter, which is a good habit to have when traveling with your puppy/dog by vehicle.  Thank You for such a great demonstration, Allen!

"She is a handful when she's energized, but she is so smart and so very sweet!! Whenever I sit on the floor she grabs a stuffed toy or a chewy and comes to sit on my lap to cuddle with me.  I lover her so, and have had so many compliments on her.  The vet in fact told me that she and her husband were thinking of purchasing a Giant Schnauzer, and was extremely complimentary.  She said "wow, what a great breeder" and asked me where I'd gotten her, because she was so impressed with her temperament, health and disposition when I brought her in for her checkup.  She has been so sweet to people, and CALM in new situations.  I am continually impressed with her disposition!  I will definitely pass your information onto others who may be interested in a Giant Schnauzer."    Joanna -- Massachusetts

Well for Schwartz’s 8 month mark he got scratched corneas. Apparently dogs aren’t supposed to hang their heads out of car windows for 17 hours at a time. Just got back from another trip up to Wisconsin and he had terrible green drainage coming from his eyes. Brought him in to the vet and sure enough, scratched corneas! Not to worry though, a couple days of ointment and this morning he was proclaimed all better, not a single scratch anymore! Yea! The vet said its bad to let a dog hang their head out of the car window and we weren’t supposed to let him do that etc etc…..We compromised and here are the pictures of Schwartz in his new doggie goggles!

They named him "Schwartz" he is a sweet puppy with BIG paws.  We placed him in a wonderful home located in Alabama.  We are so excited for The Troyers they are an enjoyable couple.  Here is a recent photo of their trip home.  Looks like "Schwartz" is having royal treatment even in his exhaustion.

Meet Our Veterinarian!

Dr. Ulmanis has been a practicing veterinarian in both Michigan and Missouri since his graduation from Michigan State University in 1976.    After working at several clinics in Michigan during his early years, he founded Ulmanis Veterinary Clinic in Metamora, Michigan where he worked on both large and small animals, but specialized in equine work. In 1993, he moved to the West Plains area and purchased the Animal Clinic of West Plains, Inc., which he remodeled into a full service equine and small animal facility.He is an active member of his church and in his spare time enjoys gardening and swimming. He has two teenage sons, an American Quarter horse and a black Labrador retriever named Zach.
