The Pembroke Welsh Corgi 

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was first discovered in the 12th century, perhaps 10th century; breed recognition by The Kennel Club in the UK around 1938.

They have originated from Wales having their primary function being herding.  Especially appreciated for their compact size, hard working ability, and positive attitude. 

Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a true dwarf breed.  Their confidence and self satisfaction is rarely seen in a dog of this size.  They are a big dog in a smallish body.  The Pembroke Corgi is short in leg but of notable substance, sturdy build, and alert in action.  This is not to say they are arrogant (though as cute as they are they are certainly entitled).  Generally an easy dog to live with, the Corgi enjoys popularity in many circles including as a pet, for pet therapy and many dog sports.  A home that has difficulty raising and training a Pembroke Welsh Corgi truly needs to consider pursuing more education and knowledge since this breed is typically quite trainable and easy to live with.

Long, low and sturdily built, - recognized by a sharply-pointed muzzle and foxy face, erect and pointed ears, and a high tail set. The Pembroke's brave, steady temperament, physical agility and easily-kept, compact size are paramount characteristics of the breed. They have a variety of color shades coming in red, fawn, sable, black, and tan with or without white on head, legs, chest and neck.  Having the herding dog instincts’ they are very energetic and love to play and run. 

They range from 10 – 12 inches in height, and 20 – 26 lbs in weight.  The Pembroke Welsh Corgi has life longevity of mid to high teens. 

Pembroke Welsh Corgis are great in family settings along with other pets too.  You actually might find them herding your children outside while playing.  One can enjoy the energy and enthusiasm that the Pembroke brings to all things.  Minimal grooming requirements and compact size makes them a good candidate for families and many lifestyles.  Quintessential big dog in a small dog body. 

They are super energetic with a strong work ethic, happy and alert seemingly friendly.  A dog that is willing to please and wanting to submit to a well respected trainer.  The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is remarkably alert and quick for a dog with such short legs.  Additionally they are very excited about having anything to do, especially when it involves their people.  They are intelligent with remarkable stamina and generally alert nature.  The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is always looking out for the both of you making sure work is fun.  They are relatively sensitive and easily demoralized by a trainer that is frustrated or unhappy.  So be much focused on them when training and realize they learn quickly and take corrective criticism personal.  Don’t be too harsh.  Praise brings them a long ways. 

Abraham "Ham" is just that.  Always a need for attention and everywhere you are getting it.  He is a very well behaved, intelligent Gent, and aims to please us in everyway.

Meet Trinity "Tree" our Tri Colored Little Lady.  She is a great mother and does her best to teach each of her children the do's and don'ts of life.  She is a sweet and gentle natured female with a wonderful personality to which she gives to each of her puppies.  Her puppies are always born with such vibrant variations of colors.

Abraham on the left is our Proud and Intelligent Stud dog, sitting next to his lady love, Bridget.  Bridget is a sweet and adoring little girl.  She aims to please often.  They are the proud parents of a litter born December 22nd, 2009.   

Bridget birthed her wee ones on December 22nd, 2009.  She is a lovely lady full of love, and sincerity.
